Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.Matthew 5:6
The Upside-down Kingdom blog is an adventure; a journey of discovery with articles posted on the 1st and 15th of each month. These articles may or may not be in series. Mostly, they are a way to explore whatever God has been laying on my heart for a day or a season that I feel He wants me to share.
It is a journey to discover more about a life lived from a different perspective; a Godly, Christ-centered perspective. It is about discovering how we should walk through this life and interact with the amazing creation around us. The journey will be to the center of who we are and who we are made to be.
Sometimes the best journeys come from the unexpected encounters along the trail; the experience of life lived with excitement and wonder. God wants us to journey with Him through this life into deeper relationship and understanding of who He is and who we are in Him.
These pages are thoughts and encounters from my life and journey. Some days I walked hard roads, and some days the journey was easy. But, every day, I never walk alone. I hope and pray that they may in some small way impact your life and, perhaps, change your perspective.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,Psalm 23:4
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
So who am I that He should be mindful of me? I am a passionate pursuer of God’s presence. I am a crazy-in-love follower of Jesus. I am nothing without HIM!
I am husband to Catherine, the light of my life, my best half. For more than two and a half decades, she has been challenging me to race after Jesus and to be better than I was on my own.
I’m the father of 3 incredible kids! God has blessed me with 2 sons and 1 daughter, all the joy of my life and truly the best friends (besides my wife!) that I have ever had. They are a wonder and glory to behold, and I look forward to seeing the men and woman they are growing into each day!
I spent 20 years serving in the United States Air Force, and then entered full-time ministry on staff at a wonderful church. Since then I have grown and learned from wonderful pastors and mentors, attended seminary, and been called to step out into independent ministry to reach our city. I am a jack-of-all-trades and a master-of-none, purposed to accomplish that which God has given me to do, and I see Him calling me into a new wild adventure with Him!
My passion is to see young people catch God’s vision for their lives. It’s where my heart lies; to empower generations to step into and chase after God’s glorious presence as they impact the world around them with the love and power of Jesus Christ.
